The BESSEY high-performance clamp is a further development of the BESSEY all-steel screw clamp that was patented in 1952 and is an additional model series for the highest demands. With clamping forces of 8,500 N to 35,000 N, the high-performance clamps are suitable for the metalworking, steel construction and shipbuilding sectors, as well as for woodworking, e.g. for roof & bridge structures of solid laminated beams.

The BESSEY high-performance clamp range is extremely varied thanks to four force classes from 8,500 N to 35,000 N, five throat depth variants from 100 mm to 200 mm and clamping widths of up to 1,500 mm. It therefore covers virtually all possible application areas in which robust or heavy parts require particular clamping forces and the highest degree of safety.

The quality of the BESSEY high-performance clamps is better than that of the all-steel screw clamps. As is common for these, the sliding and fixed arms are tempered and galvanised. The spindles with acme threads in the high-performance clamps are not just tempered but are also phosphate-treated. This makes them smooth and prevents jamming. The service life for the clamps is therefore noticeably increased.

All clamps from this BESSEY range are fitted with a heat-resistant special pressure plate that can move by up to 35°. It has a smooth surface and can be quickly replaced, if necessary. For workpieces that require a better grip, it can be replaced by a design with a corrugated surface or, for round, oval or angular workpieces, by a design with a v-groove. All special pressure plates have a hardened and oil-soaked sintered steel insert, which gives them excellent sliding and emergency running properties and a long service life.

All BESSEY high-performance clamps have comfortable tommy bars for powerful clamping. The largest two versions, the STBS and the STBVC, also have a 19 mm hexagonal bolt at the end of the spindle for controlled clamping that is the same each time using a torque spanner.
